G20 Extraordinary Leaders’ Meeting on Afghanistan

Under Italy’s Presidency of the G20 and at the initiative of President of the Council of Ministers Mario Draghi, an extraordinary meeting of G20 leaders on Afghanistan will be held on Tuesday 12 October.
The meeting will be held at 13:00 (CET) via video conference.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Draghi will hold a press conference in the ‘Sala Polifunzionale’ at the Presidency of the Council in Rome.

Journalists wishing to attend the press conference in person can register on the AMEI (Accreditation Media Institutional Events) portal at the following link: https://amei.palazzochigi.it, by 9:00 CET on Tuesday 12 October.
Alternatively, journalists may apply by sending an e-mail to salastampachigi@governo.it, stating their personal data, mobile phone number and media organisation.

In compliance with COVID-19 regulations, only 25 journalists will be allowed to access the hall.
Journalists who are accredited to attend in person will be contacted for confirmation.
Access will be granted through the entrance in via Santa Maria in Via 37b. Attendees must show their ‘green pass’ [EU Digital COVID Certificate] and wear an FFP2 mask.

Photographs and the live stream of the press conference will be made available on the Presidency of the Council’s official channels and on the G20 website, in both Italian and English.
